I’ve been lusting after this shoe for a while, so I was more than stoked when I heard it was getting the retro treatment, and pretty extatic when I found out it was going to come in the OG cement print box.
The Air Jordan III is regarded by many as the best, ever, and the white/fire red/cement make up is often ranked as the best of the bunch (but likely loses out to the black/cement in most polls). The shoe’s simplicity (both in colour palette, and construction) is second to none, and it carries with it all the character it had back in ‘88 - true OG flavour.
I was never fortunate enough to own a pair of the original Air Jordan III, or any of the retro’s in this colourway for that matter, but from what I can tell, the use of materials, build quality and overall shape are spot on, and from the way they feel on foot, I’m prepared to accept that as fact. As a final touch, the shoes come wrapped in cement print paper, and the box also includes mock ups of the original Jordan III design leaflet and plastic ‘Air’ tag (originally Nike, now Jumpan, of course).
Mine are staying firmly indoors until the weather improves, but I know it’ll be tough to wrestle them from my feet come summer. I picked up my pair from Urban Industry, who still have a few pairs left if you want to invest. I strongly encourage it, retros like this don’t come around often.
